Severity: wishlist
The network chapter is really useful.
However I wondered about the subsection on hotplug[1] - I thought udev
was supposed to replace hotplug in all its uses, but it's difficult to
get unambigous information about this.
I don't know what should go here instead, perhaps other readers of this
bug would like to contribute ideas? The questions I had after reading
the [1] were:
* is hotplug deprecated or not (for networking use)?
* is ifplugd the recommended successor?
* if not ifplugd, then what?
A search of the wiki yielded some mixed indications about whether it
should be installed these days [2-5].
Cheers
Vince
