Package: claws-mail

Severity: low

Hi,
Attempting to install sylpheed-claws-gtk2 in sid leads to the following:
apt-get install -s sylpheed-claws-gtk2
Reading package lists...
Building dependency tree...
Reading state information...
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
sylpheed-claws-gtk2: Depends: claws-mail (>= 3.0.2-1) but it is not going to
be installed
Depends: claws-mail (< 3.0.2-1.1~) but it is not going
to be installed
E: Broken packages

Forcing the conflict with -f, or versioning the conflict in the source package
with:
sylpheed-claws-gtk2 (<< ${source:Version})
solves the problem (of course the transitional package needs to be manually
removed).
According to the policy manual ([1], para 7.5.2), your control file seems
correct and should lead to claws-mail being installed instead of
sylpheed-claws-gtk2.
Could this be a bug with apt?
Thank you,
Cesare
