Package: sun-java6-jre Followup-For: Bug #443964 Hooray! The problem is now gone. There have been some upgrades here and there in between, so I don't know exactly what did it, but it's all working now. The display of the java cache browser acts weird, but that may be completely unrelated and is a much less severe bug in any case. I could report it here if it's of any interest, but I'm guessing it might not be due to the closed-source nature of SUN's java.
