Any updates on this bug report?
The proposed patch looks very promising, and this is one of the most
annoying bugs in Debian. Breaking 'unrelated' software - and causing
issues with gnome-mount and hal definitely counts as that - break even
across system reboots etc. is a really nasty thing.
Btw, IMHO the file must not be created in /usr/share/hal, but in /etc
Please update the package soon, before more users are bitten by this bug
which is somewhat tricky to track down, since it's caused by a pretty
much unrelated software!
