Interesting... Kernel module does not come into Debian with any patches, let's try to find the source of the problem. .Which is the upstream version you have working? .Is there something that /var/log/martian-modem.log says? If does not, raise up the DEBUG_LEVEL value on /etc/default/martian-modem. I was informed that many Ltmodems are "AS IF" they were as Mars ones, just let's check that: Include a "lspci -v" block from your modem, please.
