Package: bash
Version: 3.1dfsg-8
Severity: wishlist

I and other users I know find it useful for the bash history to
contain pretty much every command I've ever typed. I set:

# remember more history
export HISTSIZE=400000
export HISTFILESIZE=400000

in my .bashrc. The number is arbitrary; it could be 100000 or 1000000.
I'd default to having it commented out as many users may not want such
a voluminous history.
