I have made some further tests and can now confirm the following: 1/ no event sounds except login sound issue can be fixed by setting autospawn=1 in /etc/esound/esd.conf - this bug should thus be reassigned to esd-common, which is now done 2/ No login sound issue is an known issue upstream: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=466458 I have compiled current gnome-session (2.20.1-1) with the path attached to the bug report, and I now get the login sound working - this is thus a separate bug which should be assigned to gnome-session (I will open a new bug) Cheers, Julien
