I agree with Santiago. I installed sox, and all my old scripts
stopped working. Not even the examples from the man-page worked. I
was just about to give up on sox as completely broken (I looked hard
for some other sound-conversion package, considered building sox from
source, and then started writing a script to pre-pend a WAV header on
a RAW file, which is all that I really wanted to do), when I came
across the bug report. Thankfully sox is working again now. I really
wouldn't have expected installing sox to result in a non-functional
binary, one not even able to handle RAW and WAV. Maybe other obscure
formats could be split out into other packages, but if it can't handle
RAW and WAV, what use is it really?

Thanks --

Jim
