I can't seem to reproduce this. Could you get a backtrace by installing the gimp-dbg, libgtk2.0-dbg, and libglib2.0-dbg packages, and following the directions here: http://wiki.debian.org/HowToGetABacktrace? You can skip the part about rebuilding the package.
