Package: console-data Version: 2:1.03-1 Severity: wishlist Tags: d-i I'm setting severity wishlist, but this issue is fairly important for Debian Installer.
Before a recent change in the installer, configuration questions would be suppressed during installation of the base-system. This is now no longer the case [1]. The only question that now shows up is the "Policy for handling keymaps" question from console-data. Displaying this question is undesired as D-I will itself install the correct keymap based on keymap selection earlier in the installation. It would be great if this question could somehow be suppressed, but I'm not sure how best to implement this as the question probably should be asked suring other new installations (e.g. when using debootstrap manually to set up a chroot). Some discussion about this is probably needed. Please CC the debian-boot mailinglist for that. [1] We used to use the noninteractive debconf frontend, but have switched to an interactive frontend to be able to support CD switching during installs. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-rc3 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages console-data depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.17 Debian configuration management sy Versions of packages console-data recommends: ii console-common 0.7.71 basic infrastructure for text cons ii console-tools 1:0.2.3dbs-65 Linux console and font utilities -- debconf information excluded -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
