X-Reportbug-Version: 3.39 X-Debbugs-Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Package: tzdata Version: 2007i-2 Severity: normal
Summary: upgrading shouldn't destroy the configuration. I got an upgrade of tzdata just now: Vorbereiten zum Ersetzen von tzdata 2007i-1 (durch .../tzdata_2007i-2_all.deb) ... Entpacke Ersatz für tzdata ... Richte tzdata ein (2007i-2) ... User defined timezone, leaving /etc/localtime unchanged. Local time is now: Mon Nov 26 08:12:01 UTC 2007. Universal Time is now: Mon Nov 26 08:12:01 UTC 2007. Run 'dpkg-reconfigure tzdata' if you wish to change it. Whereas my configured timezone was UTC-1 (see end of mail). localtime apparently wasn't touched, but the time given is wrong: $ ls -la /etc/localtime -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 801 2007-07-03 08:45 /etc/localtime $ date Mon Nov 26 08:28:22 UTC 2007 $ TZ=UTC date Mon Nov 26 08:29:15 UTC 2007 $ TZ=UTC-1 date Mon Nov 26 09:29:53 UTC 2007 Reconfiguration solves it, though: $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure tzdata Current default timezone: 'Europe/Vienna' Local time is now: Mon Nov 26 09:31:50 CET 2007.
