Package: aptitude
Version: 0.4.9-2
Severity: important
Hello,
Since a few weeks, aptitude crashes quite regularly when it returns from
installing packages. When it's supposed to show messages in the status bar
("rebuilding package list" and whatever else), it segfaults instead.
Stack BT, don't know if it's any good:

Ouch! Got SIGSEGV, dying..
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

(gdb) c
Continuing.
Program terminated with signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
The program no longer exists.

This happens 'often'. I update every day, and it happens practically every
time. I have one package that is only partially installed the last weeks (not
related to aptitude); I just mention it in case there's an obvious correlation.
The cause could be related to one of the other segfaults in the bug list, but I
just don't have the heart to go through all of 'em, sorry. ;)
Thanks and good luck with the hunt,
Wouter
