Maybe this is a wishlist report. If yes, feel free to change the
severity.
ATM the dh_install script doesn't seem to keep track of installed files
over binary-indep and binary-arch. For example: I create arch
independent and dependent packages from a source file. Therefor I
install everything into debian/tmp and then "move" the necessary parts
via dh_install into the right packages.
First binary-indep is called, so I use the --list-missing switch for
dh_install in binary-arch. But it always warns me about the long list of
the documentation fles, that are put into the arch-indep doc package.
Now I'm not sure, what would be the best way to solve the problem. Maybe
create a temporary file ${FILELIST}.{indep, dep} depending on the -a|-i
switch of debhelper. Then say dh_install is called with the -a switch
and it should put the content os ${FILELIST}.indep into the list of
installed files too.
I did not yet read the full ource of dh_install. Maybe you can give me a
hint, if and how you would try to solve the problem. Then I would try to
create a patch.
Regards, Daniel
