Package: postgresql-8.1 Severity: normal As explained in [1], Lenny will ship with the latest PostgreSQL only, which is currently 8.2, and will be 8.3 in a few weeks when it is released.
A while ago I filed bugs against packages to rebuild against the new libpq soname and drop -8.1 specific dependencies. Of those, only two are left: - nagios-pgsql (#419286): I will bump the severity of this to serious - postgresql-pljava (#419305): this package is hopelessly unmaintained, not in testing, and already has three RC bugs; I'll bump the severity of this bug as well. So I think it's time to remove 8.1 from unstable now. I would appreciate lowering the number of PostgreSQL packages which we have to maintain. FYI, due to the introduction of server/client metapackages, and 8.3 not changing the libpq soname, the switch to 8.3 will be pretty smooth.
