Hi, to me this sounds like the shlibs file in libxmlrpc has a too low version. This would be a bug in libxmlrpc and not rtorrent. rtorrent would just need a binNMU after libxmlrpc is fixed.
Please investigate this and if so forward the bug and raise the severity.
