$ cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep motherboard motherboard : PowerBook5,2 MacRISC3 Power Macintosh So i'm pretty sure you can upgrade just fine :) I know i did, but i do get you point. Also the hal on my powerbook doesn't seem to grow.. Anyway if after upgrade to a recent version it still leaks memory, then please by all means reopen this bug or open a new one.
