If I disable gnome-power-manager, things work as expected. The acpi-support
scripts ifdown and ifup the network on suspend and resume respectively.
Does it still happen with gnome-power-manager 2.20 and hal 0.5.10 from
unstable?
It still sometimes happens. I think the real issue is that madwifi
doesn't really handle power management properly, and therefore must be
removed and reinserted to the kernel during suspend and resume. The
ifupdown scripts seem to handle this. gnome-power-manager does not.
