I do agree with you that defaults are very important.  And you're right,
most of the time Debian the right thing by providing default configuration
that makes sense.

Regarding the severity, I think that there is a large element of
subjectivity.  3-value severity fields like on the KDE tracker (crash, no
crash, wishlist) force people to take a more extreme position I guess.  Then
again, sometimes a certain behaviour is considered a bug by some and not by
others who like it the way it is.

In this case, I do agree with you that the default "show all errors and
warnings" is the wrong one for most users.  I think it is much larger than
K3b and that it would probably need to be fixed by adjusting the default
error reporting in KDE.

So how about I reassign this bug to the kde metapackage?
