~/.units.dat is being handled correctly.
The "-f" option causes the default file to not be loaded. If you want to
use "-f" and have the default loaded as well as your custom one use
units -f "" -f myunits.dat
UNITSFILE appears to be preventing the loading of the default units.dat but
~/.units,dat still seems to be being loaded. If you have a ~/.units.dat
try renaming it temporarily and let me know what happens.
