Package: gnuplot Version: 4.2.2-1 Severity: normal
When using the fontfile option of the postscript terminal with a .pfb font, gnuplot calls out to the external program pfbtops. pfbtops is a part of the groff package, but none of gnuplot, gnuplot-nox, or gnuplot-x11 depend on the package. For background, the following line in one of my files: set term postscript eps color size 3, 2 "NimbusSanL-Regu,17" fontfile "/usr/share/texmf-texlive/fonts/type1/urw/helvetic/uhvr8a.pfb" Caused the following error: sh: pfbtops: command not found "swap-latency.gp", line 16: Command 'pfbtops /usr/share/texmf-texlive/fonts/type1/urw/helvetic/uhvr8a.pfb' generated error, exitcode is 32512 until I installed the groff package. The fontfile option is often used to embed fonts in the output that gnuplot produces, as often required by publishers (like the IEEE). -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-2-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages gnuplot depends on: ii gnuplot-nox 4.2.2-1 A command-line driven interactive ii gnuplot-x11 4.2.2-1 X11-terminal driver for gnuplot gnuplot recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
