Not sure if this problem is related to bug #404215 (which was closed but...) but it might be. If it's not related, I'm happy to open up a new bug report.
I get these errors on boot-up: hda_intel: azx_get_response timeout, switching to polling mode... hda_intel: azx_get_response timeout, switching to single_cmd mode... hda_codec: No auto-config is available, default to model=ref hda-intel: no codecs initialized and sound does not work. I am running Debian testing, up to date as of a couple of hours ago: # uname -a Linux lobo 2.6.22-3-amd64 #1 SMP Sun Nov 4 18:18:09 UTC 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux # lspci | grep -i audio 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02) # lsmod | grep snd snd_hda_intel 311968 0 snd_pcm_oss 48288 0 snd_mixer_oss 21376 1 snd_pcm_oss snd_pcm 89992 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm_oss snd_timer 28424 1 snd_pcm snd 65896 5 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_pcm,snd_timer soundcore 13088 1 snd snd_page_alloc 15376 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm The sound system used to work on i386 stable before I upgraded to testing/amd64.
