Dear Pawel, The result is from this thread: http://people.debian.org/~terpstra/message/20070702.155802.ad2e5b7d.en.html But the actual reason is that it has been six years since upstream has stopped development on GTK+ 1.x, and QA and release team have decided to gradually phase it out. XMMS is among the showstoppers, and while many will miss it, it has to go. Note that this does not mean people cannot install older libgtk1 and retain an older XMMS. It is just that it won't be supplied with stock Debian anymore, if the removal goes through. Odds are that someone will externally maintain it, so don't fret! :-) When you decide to request removal of this package, please just retitle and reassign this bug against ftp.debian.org. Thanks!
