When I right-click on a file on the Desktop, and select the option to make a tar.gz archive, Nautilus pretends it did not succeed by popping up an error window. The message from the command line that the window gives is : tar: Ceci ne ressemble pas à une archive de type « tar » tar: Statut d'erreur reporté d'erreurs précédentes. (I do not know how to get it in another locale) Importantly, despite the error message, the archive is created and appears to be functionnal.
