reassign 394264 initscripts thanks I'm not sure if initscripts is the source of this behaviour, but I am sure it isn't sysv-rc, as it is only responsible for running the init.d scripts, not their content, with the exception of one call to 'stty onlcr' when it starts running init.d scripts for each runlevel.
I did not quite catch from this bug report what was wrong with the tty settings. Please elaborate. The issue might be related to some console* scripts, that take care of the console setup.
