This looks very similar to upstream bug #493530. Libexif appears to be
having trouble with both this and the upstream example images:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ exif IMG_0836.jpg
Corrupt data (ExifData):
Bogus offset of IFD1.
But other tools work okay with the metadata.
