Hi everybody, although I can't add anything constructive to the discussion I
can report that I am experiencing exactly the same problems with Jukka.

I haven't tried all the combinations that Jukka has tried but I am
experiencing the immediate freeze with kernel-image-2.4.27-2-686 and
nvidia-kernel-2.4.27-2-686 just like him. It didn't help also when I compiled
the nvidia kernel drivers from source, against the precompiled debian kernel.
