found 439265 0.61 severity 439265 important I'm bumping severity because this bug has "a major effect on the usability of a package." Package management exists because users don't want to fiddle with dependencies.
This does not only involve *-data packages. Steps to reproduce: 1. Install the tor package 2. Verify that privoxy, tsocks and socat are installed along with it. 3. Uninstall tor 4. Now I have three more packages installed than before step 1. This behavior defeats the whole purpose of package management. During the four months I've now been using synaptic, I cannot recall a single instance where synaptic removed more than the requested packages. Please fix this as soon as possible. Regards, André
