I've just completed the merge for 0.12.4-2 into Ubuntu, and would like to report that just makeing the described changes (as has been done in 0.12.4-2) is insufficient for the package to work with a system default python2.5. While further changes in this package are likely not necessary at this time, the current zope3 package is only available for python2.4, and gaphor crashes on start when using python2.5 with this zope3.
