Good point, I hadn't considered that it might have caused by a
hardware-specific driver bug.
I know there *are* some known bugs where the new version of xzgv X
will die with X protocol errors coming back from the server, so it's
not impossible that there are more bugs like that hiding in xzgv. See
bug #457252. Neither I nor upstream have been able to figure out that
one yet.
For general picture viewing though I haven't had any major problems
with it, though.
