Package: git-core
Version: 1:1.5.3.8-1
Severity: normal

If Git does not already know your identity, and the chain of fallbacks
leads to /etc/mailname, Git will complain if it doesn't exist:

warning: unable to read /etc/mailname: No such file or directory

Git should not complain if /etc/mailname does not exist; it should
just ignore it since it provides no information, like it would any
other source of identity information that it cannot access.
