I checked the code in the 5.04-2 package, and it was the same (with the same bug). (In fact I checked it before sending the bug report, but I forgot to mention that.) For the non-standard xscreensaver version, it is the standard 4.24-5 with my patch applied on top of it. (I've been using the patched version for almost four months now, and the problem never appeared. With 4.24-5 it hung approx. once or twice a fortnight.) I don't run Lenny on any of my boxes, so I cannot stability-test the patch on 5.04-2. (It applies cleanly - that's no surprise, utils/fade.c hasn't changed since 4.24-5.) What should I do? Is a 'smoke test' enough? (I mean installing Lenny, patching xscreensaver and test if fade-in/fade-out still works. I cannot test if the bug is fixed, because that requires more testing - the bug is a non-deterministic one.)
