Package: proftpd Version: 1.3.1-4 Severity: normal
Originally, I used proftpd on my desktop that started from inetd, which was set via the debconf question. After a recent upgrade, I found a proftpd daemon running in the system. I found the setting in proftpd.conf had been changed to ``standalone'' by the upgrade script. I tried dpkg-reconfigure with the package and chose ``from inetd'' again but it did not work. I then purged the package, installed it using aptitude and chose the same option, but the configuration file always remained ``standalone''. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_HK.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=zh_CN.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages proftpd depends on: ii adduser 3.105 add and remove users and groups ii debconf 1.5.18 Debian configuration management sy ii debianutils 2.28.2 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii libacl1 2.2.45-1 Access control list shared library ii libattr1 1:2.4.39-1 Extended attribute shared library ii libc6 2.7-5 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libldap2 2.1.30.dfsg-13.5 OpenLDAP libraries ii libmysqlclient15off 5.0.45-5 MySQL database client library ii libncurses5 5.6+20071215-1 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libpam-runtime 0.99.7.1-5 Runtime support for the PAM librar ii libpam0g 0.99.7.1-5 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libpq5 8.2.6-1 PostgreSQL C client library ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8g-3 SSL shared libraries ii libwrap0 7.6.dbs-14 Wietse Venema's TCP wrappers libra ii netbase 4.30 Basic TCP/IP networking system ii perl 5.8.8-12 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii sed 4.1.5-5 The GNU sed stream editor ii ucf 3.004 Update Configuration File: preserv ii update-inetd 4.27-0.6 inetd.conf updater ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-8 compression library - runtime proftpd recommends no packages. -- debconf information: shared/proftpd/warning: * shared/proftpd/inetd_or_standalone: from inetd -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
