Hi,
this bug seems to be a duplicate of #461465 in Debian and duplicate of
#183969 in Ubuntu.
Can you please try two things for me:
- try another wxWidgets app like VLC for example and tell me if it breaks?
- then try to add these lines in your Xorg.conf, restart and X and tell me
if it's ok?

This is what was suggested in #461465 that should be solved by version 2:
1.1.1-21etch3 instead of being broken at least as far as I understand it.
