looks like the default path from which bochs tries to load VGA bios does not exist. It's in vgabios package, so I presume there should be a symlink: /usr/share/bochs/VGABIOS-lgpl-latest pointing to /usr/share/vgabios/vgabios.bin Qemu does so already.
