Package: reportbug Version: 3.39 Severity: important
I attempted to report a bug in another package and gave up. Reportbug confronted me with a screen headed "Select a bug to read the report:". In the list following that heading, the first item had an 'X' next to it. Guessing that this meant it was selected, and deciding that I did not wish to read its report, I attempted to remove the X. There appears to be no way to do so. I can move the X to the next report (which I also do not want to read) but cannot remove it. The list continues indefinitely, with no indication of how many items it contains or how near the current item is to the end of the list. At this point, my choices appear to be to move the cursor to one of three items at the botton of the screen: "Get info", "Continue" or "Quit". The meaning of "Quit" is reasonably apparent, the others less so. "Get info" on what? Since the heading of the screen is "Select a bug to read the report", it suggests to me that my choosing it means I wish to read the report. But I do not wish to read the report. For the same reason, "Continue" suggests the same - that I wish to continue to read the report on the bug with the "X" that I cannot remove. But I do not wish to read the report. So I decided to report a bug on reportbug instead. One of the options 'Get info' and 'Continue' probably means something other than 'You must read the bug report with the X next it, you have no choice, ha ha ha!'. Perhaps it could be made apparent which option means what? -- Package-specific info: ** Environment settings: EDITOR="emacsclient --alternate-editor=emacs" EMAIL="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" INTERFACE="urwid" ** /home/nick/.reportbugrc: reportbug_version "3.39" mode standard ui urwid email "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" no-cc header "X-Debbugs-CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED]" smtphost bugs.debian.org -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages reportbug depends on: ii apt 0.7.9 Advanced front-end for dpkg ii python 2.4.4-6 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-central 0.5.15-0.1 register and build utility for Pyt reportbug recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
