Package: tftpd-hpa Version: 0.48-1 Severity: normal -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1
Hi there, bug #438163 asked you to make tftpd-hpa depend on inet-superserver. But it's also entirely possible to run tftpd-hpa on its own without inetd, even if it's a less-common configuration. So it should be possible to install tftpd-hpa on a system without dragging in inet-superserver. I think the right way to fix this is to move inet-superserver to Recommends: rather than Depends:. Since apt is now installing recommended packages by default, the standard installation will be unaffected, but admins who prefer to run tftpd as its own daemon can do so without overhead. As a concrete example, I prefer to run tftpd-hpa under runit supervision with the new -L flag introduced in 0.48-1 (thanks!).
