Package: sun-java6-bin Version: 6-00-2 Severity: normal Java control panel start time is about ~5 minutes. The same effect when starting java applets in firefox or in mozilla at the first time using sun-java5-plugin or sun-java6-plugin. Despite the very slow loading java works as expected, and other java programs loading time is normal. The problem exists both on debian etch and lenny with sun-java5 and sun-java6. The problem starts about 2 or 3 weeks after installing the system. I couldn't find anything usable in java's log files. Purging and reinstalling all java packages and deleting user related config files didn't help. The same problem with installing the latest jre from sun's site.
