Package: enscript Version: 1.6.4-12 Severity: normal The build dependency on flex was added as the result of a FTBFS (#140066). However, the fact that enscript needed flex to build was an Automake bug (enscript 1.6.3 used Automake 1.4), and should be fixed by now.
The other reason we might need to build-depend on flex is that we are patching one of the flex files, and so the corresponding output needs regenerating. Still, the existing patch looks a bit unnecessary to me; and it should be possible to avoid needing to rebuild the output when 'make' is run in any case.
