Now it hangs again. This is after the 24h connection timeout (german providers 
do this).
However, it does not kill the connection every 15min, so it was a little 
improvement but having to manually restart pppd every 24h is not quite 
acceptible for a router. I could hack around it but I'd prefer a working 
pppd.

As this, I'd also prefer you not closing bugs that you are not sure about.
