In my opinion, the default timeout in apt-cacher (apparently 5 minutes) is far too long for broadband, where a delay of more than around 5 seconds indicates a problem. Please make this timeout configurable. - -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.23 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages apt-cacher depends on: ii apache2-mpm-prefork [apache2] 2.2.6-3 Traditional model for Apache HTTPD ii bzip2 1.0.4-2 high-quality block-sorting file co ii perl 5.8.8-12 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii wget 1.10.2-3 retrieves files from the web apt-cacher recommends no packages. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFHrMW9tHQW4HWNftkRAl8TAJ0QnO1/r2xnENknLYzOkOu3KFtKVgCeIQdG jywZLMfryqNnSyeLXLYTWo8= =EVsw -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
