Dear Joey, I am in the process of dealing with debian/changelog encoding issues (UTF-8 encoding for these files being a lenny release goal).
During that process, I did many NMUs for nearly abandoned packages (most of the time, the only ones left with such issues: http://lintian.debian.org/reports/Tdebian-changelog-file-uses-obsolete-national-encoding.html). Of course, doing a direct NMU for this package, which seems actively maintained by a maintainer who's known as active...would be pretty rude..:-) Do you consider fixing that issue? I'd like to get rid with these encoding problems ASAP. Of course, a NMU is possible if you prefer focusing your time on other tasks...feel free to let me know. --
