Yes.

I can't type "linux" in the grub2 shell (unknown command). "help" doesn't list this command

This is normal when you're in rescue mode.

When running "insmod normal" i get an "out of partition" error.

Please ask me all that could be useful to fix that bug.

I just uploaded 1.96+20080210-1, which includes:

    - Errors that cause GRUB to enter rescue mode are displayed now.
      (Closes: #425149)

Please can you try it and report the reason you got into rescue mode?
