I already knew about the merging and was able to connect using iwlwifi at the time the report was wrote. What I was trying to point out is that since iwlwifi drivers are lacking many features (powermanagement, wifi led support...), wouldn't it be nice to have the choice between ipw3945 and iwlwifi with kernel 2.6.24 ?
