Hi, please scratch the above. It still works with the 2.6.24 kernel. However, kernel-package 11.001-0.1 doesn't work anymore with the patch. I downgraded to 11.001, patched /usr/share/kernel-package/kernel_version.mk and was able to build a kernel .deb out-of-tree again.
