Hello Lukas,

did you update an old mailscanner installation?

Not recently. I started using MailScanner about 4 years ago -- but being subscribed to unstable, I regularly upgrade.

When I realized the difficulties, I did

apt-get remove --purge mailscanner

apt-get install mailscanner

and restored the /etc/MailScanner I have been adjusting over the years.

The problem could be reproduced on two independent unstable installations (one setup on Dec. 27th, 2007, the other in January 2006).

Any idea -- besides going with the virgin /etc/MailScanner?

Thanks.

Lukas

The following error is reported when I attempt to start mailscanner:

Does anybody know how to resolve this problem?

Is it related to the following debconf setting?
  mailscanner/v3_upgrade: Don't upgrade
If so, how can I change that?

Thanks for any support

Kind regards,
Lukas
