Do you still see this? can you please attach the output of strace -f -e open icedove when reproducing this crash and get a backtrace with icedove-dbg package installed? Further, try if you can start icedove witha fresh profile (e.g. move $HOME/.mozilla-thunderbird temporarily away or use a new unix account to test that).
