I reproduced the bug with the file-roller 2.20.3-1, nautilus 2.20.0-3 and tar 1.19-1
The error message appears when is created an archive .tar.gz or .tar.bz2. Using the terminal the error message is not displayed. Using the ark 4:3.5.8-1 the error message is displayed too. See the bug report #460474 I'm using Debian lenny/sid kernel 2.6.22-3-686 bye, Gilberto
