Hi, as this bug is serious enough to be release-critical, I think it should be handled. I'm willing to do a NMU, if you as the maintainer don't object nor act on yourself. I've prepared an NMU to fix _this_ issue (cannot they much about the other open issue) and will ask my AM to upload it If you don't react within 7 days.
