Roberto, The pc that I was building this just died, arr. so I can not give you details of which comment is at fault.
At the end of the file /usr/share/doc/shorewall/default-config/rules, There are a number of comments, One of these comments, at the end of this file is missing a # and hence this breaks the shore wall, as long as the default rules are used.
