And if you look at the build rules, you'll notice why: it is converted from the MySpell affix file, which upstream ships with a messy mixture of DOS and UNIX line ends. So, what needs to be cleaned up and patched, once for good, then submitted to upstream, is the MySpell affix. I successfully used it to pull 0.7.3 from upstream.
